Allegra Durante

Allegra Durante is a lyric coloratura soprano whose versatile voice has explored a broad range of eras and styles including the beautiful lines of the classical period, the thrillingly florid passages of the baroque and bel canto, and the soaring melodies of the romantics.

Allegra’s experience in classical theatre, musical theatre, dance, and stage combat has contributed to her work as as an opera singer, helping to make her a text-driven, physically expressive performer. Her training includes esteemed schools such as HB Studio and the Lucy Moses School in New York City, as well as training programs in New York City, Germany, and Italy. She regularly performs with opera companies in the New York City area.

Some of her favorite roles have included Morgana in Händel’s Alcina, Olympia in Offenbach’s Les Contes d’Hoffmann, and Giulietta in Bellini’s I Capuleti ei Montecchi.
